Is is okay and safe to file a birds nails instead of trimming them> It is hard to see where not to cut and filing with a lady's nail file looks like it might be easier? If so is there a certain way to file such as back and forth or in one direction? Sorry, I am a hairstylist (lol).Lafeber Reply

Hello Kathy
You can file your birds nails if it is not stressful on them. If they fight it you really should have it done professionally. This can be done quickly that way.
I would file them in one direction probably going down with a very fine board. This could really take some time as i do not know what type of bird you have.
