Hi Sue,
At this age, it could be normal "teething" or it could be hormonal. Regardless, it is best to try not to react to the biting. If he is exploring you with his beak, and then pinches too hard, he is just learning his strength. Try distracting him with a toy to chew on instead. If he is being territorial around his cage, you might want to train him to step up on a stick first. Be observant of his behavior before he bites - birds rarely bite with no warning, but owners often fail to recognize the warning signs. He may fluff up & stomp his feet some, his pupils may pinwheel. When he is showing aggression, it's best to leave him alone for the time being. The important thing is to reward good behavior but ignore unwanted behavior.
