my vet said that my cockatoo didn 't have a good amount of good bacteria in her stool sample. she said to feed her plain yogurt, which she will not eat. any ideas?Lafeber Reply

Hi Patti,
There are different types of probiotics on the market. You can ask your vet to prescribe or recommend something else. Yogurt is typically suggested since a lot of birds will readily eat it. You could try a flavored yogurt - an organic lemon yogurt would be a great choice - but if you use one with sugars in it, you should not feed it long term. You can also Google probiotics for parrots & you'll find different products. Here are some links with more information:
